1967 Ford Truck Want Start

Did you pump up the oil pressure with drill before you installed distributor? if not valves are not opening enough.

Yes I primed the oil pump. The problem is I purchased a MSD Street Fire Ignition module and That is why the truck want start we have put three msd modules on the truck and the only way any of them will start is if you reverse the wires going to the coil and yes this is the 4th coil 2 factory and 2 hot fire coils and they all do the same. So now with the wires reversed it runs but it misses and sometimes backfires out the headers. It also runs real rough at high RPM's. The full scoop on the motor it is a newly rebuilt 351 windsor bored out 60 over with flat top pistons a larger cam and a Eldelbrock performer aluminum intake and 600 cfm carburator, Hotfire MSD coil and high performance plug wires, New alternator new fule pump new starter and starter relay, We also completly rewired the entire truck because the wiring was so jerry rigged it was shorting things out. We have gone over the wiring 4 times already to make sure nothing was backwards causing the coil to act t he way it does. Everyrthing is correct and everything on the motor was torqued to fords specifications.

A couple of thoughts. are you sure you using counterclock wise rotation with your wires? also if that does not work go to 302 plug wiring 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 and see what happens.hope this helps Ken
