I have a 1970 Ford Torino and my problem is that the engine was sputtering when I would first accelerate like it was about to shut off.. So I took the carb of and rebuilt it, put it back on, and now when i start it up it is running rough and when i put it in drive it comes very close to dying. I have already adjusted the choke in everyway possible with no better result. What is wrong??

Could be float level set incorrectly, carb jets and adjustment of the mixture screws and curb idle speed if its not doing that before you overhaul it-
