Here is where I am so far with my knocking problem. When ambient air temp gets above 70F, and engine has come up to operating temp, if you either try to go 70 or kick down into passing gear at any speed above 40, it makes a knocking sound, MIL code 0174 bank2 too lean. (Which I would expect from misfiring letting too much unburned O2 go out exhaust = 0174) It is totally dependant on ambient air temp. Below 50F wont do it and gets 19MPG, at 80F does it badly and gets 11MPG. Makes me suspect that ambient temp under hood (not block temp) is affecting some component. Current suspect is the transistor unit sending 12 volt pulses to ign coil, called EDIS-8 or sometimes ICM ignition control module?? I have replaced all O2 sensores, plugs, ign wires, fuel injectors, fuel filter and air filter = no change. QUESTION: Where is the EDIS-8 (Electronic Distributorless Ignition System) control module located??
