To the best of my knowledge, there is nothing left from that. Have you spoken to your Ford dealer about the same problem only 20K later?

Yes, they wanted 1200 dollars to install a new one. That means, every 30,000 miles you have to install a new one. Seems crazy to me. Good car otherwise.

I would ccontact a rep from ford. I believe there are contacts listed for different areas in the owner's manual. I would contact them and complain about the issue. Tell them the repairs were done by a Ford dealer and that it only lasted 20K. If you complain enough, maybe they'll cover the parts at least.

I have a 1996 4.6 L with 72K; the plastic manifold cracked and was leaking. The dealer replaced the manifold with one that had been updated one with the front collant passage made of metal and the rest made of plastic. They should have replaced yours with the updated part. I had to pay around $800 since the manifold was on extended warranty for 70K or seven years. Hope this helps.
