1995 Ford Thunderbird turning wheel causes squeeking or squ

Hello –

To better assist you is your model the LX or Super Coupe and what is your engine size in liter.

Also, need a little more info….when you are turning the wheel are you saying the noise is coming from the tires or from the engine?

It is an LX do not know what size engine is, I do not believe the noise is coming from engine it is in the front end though I was thinking it might be bearings needing greased or the belt when you start to drive it you can't really hear anything till you turn the steering wheel and it seems to me the noise almost sounds like creeky joints everybody describes things different,do cars need greased at times? other than that sound it driving fine. if it were tie rods would it be making such a sound? i also believe it needs a front wheel alignment i hope this is enough info. thankyou for your time

correction i put it is the engine i do not believe it is i feel its in the front end somewhere

Hello - Thanks for the info.... My suggestion is take the car to a couple of front end shops and have them check it out and provide an estimate to include the front end alignment. A couple estimates should give you a good idea and you can check what one says with the other. Yes, front ends need grease.......that bad thing is many times the original parts don't come with grease fittings.....the new part does. Weird huh.....Anyway......when you are getting the front end aligned also have them grease it. If parts need to be replaced, again, compare what one says to the other. Possible your belt since it happens when you turn.........it may be your belt tensioner......below is a way to check to see if the tensioner is within spec.........

Still with about 110K the tensioner could be replaced.....they aren't that expensive.......that would ensure the alternator etc are getting the proper power to work.
