1993 Ford Thunderbird engine runs hot

Had the car worked on a fer months ago. Had new S belt, pluge, wires ignition set and a new thermostate installed. The guy insured it was a replacement type 180. Well, when I drive the car it rund normal, aout in the middle of the heat range but put on the air, pow, it runs up to about a 1/16 inch off the RED hot mark.
Coud it be a bad thermosstate or maybe a hose calasping?

Could be the Stat again and flush the cooling system -won't hurt
