1988 Ford Thunderbird engine will not crank over

I checked battery,replaced starter and solenoid but all I get is a clicking from the solenoid . Is there a relay that interupts power to the starter if there is a problem wth the turbo ?

I would try tapping on the starter while someone tries to start it. Or the other option is to tap on the starter pretty hard and then try starting it.
