I need to have the ignition switch on a 1990 Ford Tempo (108,000 km) replaced. I don't know nearly enough about vehicles and want to make sure I don't get swindled by the mechanic.
How complicated is it to replace one of these? I know how much the part costs, so it's basically labour I'm worried about here. If the mechanic is competent and no other problems arise then how many hours of work is this?

Purchase the switch yourself at the parts store and install it yourself . the instructions are on the package and are EEEEEasy to follow..I did it myself a time or two .. Single Mom learning out of necessity to repair her own vehicles. :o)
