It sounds like they may have just popped out of the socket. Replacements are available if needed.

i wasn't kidding about that she did do it, if i did it, i would have definately said it was me, no sense lying about it to people i dont know.

anyway, ill have some pictures up by tomorrow [[when it's daylight out]] so help provide a better visual. although ill have to take quite a few in order to get all the angles and whatnot.

but i cant really imagine that it couldnt be too hard of a fix.

I don't have access to what they look like, and the pics will really help. I'm guessing they are hydrolic.

In one of the pics I need to see where they came disconnected on both the rod and the point they attach to on the body, there is no limit on how many pics to post, but you may want to resixe them to 6 x 8 or so to upload quicker.

i tried using my camera to get some at least halfway decent pics, and they didnt turn out any good.

so i called up my uncle and looked at his car, he has a '79 Delta 88, and his trunk is the same setup, only NOT BROKEN. so i used his as a start point so i know how it works, and of course i tried fixing it myself. one of my friends said that he could probably fix it, but we both tried and no luck that way.

so i headed my way down to this auto body shop, i've been there before for estimates, and he takes a *special tool* and fixes it in no time. and by special tool, i mean a metal pipe with a hole in the end so the metal rod in the trunk could fit into.


and best of all, he did it for free. what a nice guy.

Thanks for the update, I know what the system is now that you described it, it's a goofy set up. Glad to hear you got er solved.
