i would like to know why my car spits and sputters while taking off from stops signs? it also does the same thing driving at 55 down the road!!

when was the last tuneup? check plugs first. how old are ignition wires? ford is especially noted for coil wire/coil troubles! spark from coil wire should jump at least 1/2 inch gap! be careful. spark is dangerous high voltage!do not touch with hands. use wood or forked stick.
could be lots of other things. more specific symptoms would help. can be fuel,ignition,or sensor related. is check engine light on?
