1994 Ford Tempo Engine overheating in 85+ degree temperatur

Engine Cooling problem
1994 Ford Tempo 4 cyl Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 126000 miles

My car always overheats when the temperature outside is 85+ degrees. We have tried replacing the thermostat, but that doesn't seem to be the problem. The car has no problems in cool/cold weather, but once it gets warm outside, it immediately overheats & I have to wait for it to cool off before I can start it again. Any advice?

does the radiator cooling fan come on?

This is my husband's auto - I actually just talked to him & he said that the car isn't overheating, but that it just won't run when it's warm/hot outside. It runs just fine in cool/cold weather. He said the gauges read fine - not showing that the engine is overheating.

well you need to find out why it wont run. check to see if it has spark when its dead. remove plug wire and leave it a quarter inch away from a metal surface and crank engine and look for sparks comin out of it. if there is no spark then you most likely need a new ignition module,coil and or coil wire, or the pick up coil. if you have spark the y spray starter fluid into intake and see if it runs. then get back to us.

Yes, the cooling fan does come on. It's definately not the thermostat.
