After doing 100km on highway, all went well. The car was running well, idle when parked and i turn it off. About 2 mins after, i fired it back up and start right away but the idling was real bad ! Like if there were not enough fuel or fire was too weak! After like 5 sec of bad idling i decided to turn it off. Turn back on and it start but idle again bad, i tried giving gas, no change than after another 5 sec, it died. Tried to start it up again, engine was cranking okay and fast enough like normal but will not start.

I unplug the fuel filter, the side going to the engine and saw fuel pressure was present, so i plug it back in...

the reason why i am thinking it's fuel related is like for 2 months, when i turn the key to ON position, i can hear a bubling sound coming from where i think is in the tank. Sounds like the fuel pump. The fuel pump have been changed about 3 months ago so i don't think it's related with the pump itself.

I can remember that yesterday before starting the car, i can only hear the Tick which the fuel pump does before cranking the engine, i didn't hear the 3 seconds buzzing sound or bubling sound. (because sometimes it does the buzzing sound and sometimes, more often lately, the bubling sound)

What can i check for issu ? Can the fuel pump relay do that ? Fuel pressure regulator ?

Oh yeah...by the way, later that night i tried the car for the heck of it and it started ! So i was able to go home, but didn't stop the car before arriving home. This morning i started the car to go work and all is good...

Someone having an idea what's wrong or what to check ?

I will get myself a fuel pressure gauge pretty soon, i will have something to check if that happen again soon...

sounds like it's electrical related. ford has a test port that has a fuel pump test lead that you can apply 12v to test pump. i think it's over by upper passenger shock tower under hood. it's a plug on the end of a harness. 1 has like 5 inputs and the pump test plug has 1. that's how i remember it.

if you dont hear pump when turning key to on, then it shouldn't start.

I used the car all week, it's my primary car so i start it like 8 times a day and started right away each time. Never did it again...

When the issu was present, i only heard a tick after 2-3 secs the key was turn to on. No humming sound before...

When the car start okay, when i turn the key to on, i start to hear right away a humming sound from the pump for 2-3 second than it stop, turn the key to start and the engine start right up.

I learn by reading posts that this car doesn't have a fuel pump relay, it got a module which include several really like the fuel pump, fan engine and other thing...it's the ccrm (constant control relay module)...

Might check to see if i can get it from a scrapyard closeby and swap it...what do you think of that ?

I'll check the test connection port to hook up 12 volts to see if it would start up...if it does once again, i will have something to try...

Thanks again,

Danny

man, they should of stick with individual relays huh? Anyhow, i think i'll leave it just like that because i've been threw all week and all weekend without a trouble ! Started right up.

One time like a year ago the heater /ac blower motor wasn't working at all and it was like -30 celcius outside and really needed that fan to work. After checking this and that...without changing any parts, it start running by itself like 20 mins after.

I thought i would change some parts making sure it will not happen again but actually i didn't and it still works....maybe just a bad contact...

it's true that asking for that module in a scapyard would be like 60 bucks or some and if that happen again and i get stuck..a recker will be more!

A risk i am willing to take

Thx for your help,

lol...i forgot about that post, actually the issu got worst, now the car won't start when hot (no fuel pump) but will work when cold.

Yesterday i swap the ccrm with one i got from a scrapward and the issu remains, so it's not it...i'll be swaping the engine computer tonight...heard it's a real pain to get it out...we shall see.
