I'm trying to remove the distributor in order to replace the ignition control module. I got the cap off and can't the bolt to loose the distributor shaft to pull it out. So, my question is how do I remove the distributor

Thank You.

First before you remove it, put the rotor on it if you took it off, then scribe a mark to the block to reset it when your done installing the distributor. There is a hold down bolt next to the distributor, remove it and the hold down fork, then just keep twisting and pulling, WD-40 can help. There is a tool for the TFI module, and most of the time the module can be removed without taking the distributor off...
