1992 Ford Tempo i think its my transmission

it kinda slips outta park or doesnt wanna stay in park and when i put in reverse it goes but clicks i can feel and hear the clicks theres no sign of leakage the fluid doesnt smell burnt and its not low any ideas?

You may need to adjust the linkage...ATX Position shift lever in drive. Loosen shift control cable retaining nut at transaxle. Ensure transaxle manual lever is in drive position (second detent from most reward position). Tighten retaining nut to 10- 15 ft. lbs. (14-20 N.m). Check transaxle operation in each position. Ensure neutral start switch and back- up lights operate properly. © 2008 Mitchell Repair Information Co., LLC.
