I suspect that the harmonic balancer is broken on the car. I looked up some information and there is no
easy way of finding out how to remove the harmonic balancer. I would really appreciate any information on
how to remove it without taking a long time if possible.

-You're out of luck here. It is kind of a long process that involves jacking the car up on jack stands and dropping the motor far enough to access the mounting nut and getting the balancer out. I did it with my car and it took a couple hours or so to get it replaced. Anything you read about changing it is pretty much the way it is. You can't really shortcut any steps with this one.
