1992 Ford Tempo engine moaning

does it do it with air cleaner removed? check/feel PCV valve? can you locate/pinpoint sound with a tube held to your ear like vac wand?

thanks for the reply,,, yesit does it with the air filter removed, checked the pcv and it rattles, if i remove it from the engine it makes the sound if i remove it from the engine and the hose its connected to its gone.i located where the sound comes from , it comes from a hole that is on the throttle body which seems to go under to a tube an goes about 2 inches and goes to the manifold i think

so your sayin if you remove the PCV valve the sound stops. usually moanibg sounds are caused by a vibration induced by suction. the PCV vale is a suction device that operates by spring resistance. no suction, spring closes valve. suction draws it open causing a negative pressure in the lines and anything else in that path of suction. something is vibrating do to a leak or some type of collapse i suspect. the picture is to far away to see what you are pointing to.and your description is not helping me. i dont have the same set up on my car.mine is older. in any case, the noise likely willl have no effect on the car. you could ignore it? or try to inspect all the components related to the noise? you can use google also to try and look for a similar problem? you may not be the lucky first 1?

thanks for your help,i'll keep trying ,if i figure it out i will post it ; the part i'm pointing to is where the tube connects to underneath.. i don't know what that part is ,i think it's the IAC,, but not sure.

if the car idles properly then iac is working fine. if you plug the hose the pcv valve is on what happens? your saying it dont moan when car is running or it cant be heard? have fun!
