Engine Cooling problem
1992 Ford Tempo 4 cyl Automatic unk miles

Hi I have a 92 Ford Tempo. For a while, the car would over heat if the a/c wasn't on because the fan would only work with the a/c on. 4 days ago it over heated and my radiator cracked. I replaced the radiator. The car continued to get hot and the fan died all together. I replaced the fan. The car still gets hot and over heats within a few blocks - It gets really hot really fast. One of my friends thinks it is the water pump. Another friend thimks there is air in the system and said i should let the car get hot and when fluid stops coming out i should fill it back up and then it should be fine. I have never heard of this procedure - Have you? What do you think is causing the car to get so hot so fast?

Thinking is a lot different when you perform a block and pressure tests to confrim if its actually the headgasket-could be a cracked head or block or the intake manifold is leaking-Guessing is a bad idea could be costly.
