Wiper Motor Assembly

How easy would it be for me to check the wiper motor assembly on a 2000 Ford Taurus? Where should I look? The blades stopped working and I can hear the motor attempting to move the blades, so the motor itself and the fuse must be ok. Is there a belt or something that could have broken that would make the blades not move?

Check the linkage, you may have to remove some of the cowling to access it, hopefully it's in there somewhere.

Do you think the assembly would be accessed through the dashboard, or betweeen the hood and windshield?
