Transmission won't shift out of park

My wife's Ford Taurus won't shift out of park. The car starts and runs fine, I depress the braake but the shifting lever refuse to move from park. Any ideas on what it could be.

I'm no pro, but the same thing happened to my Taures. It was that it had got stuck, the shifter itself. There is a relaes button on the side, you may have to use a pen or screw driver to push it in and then it may just need cleaned or greased.
