2001 ford taurus-6 cyl
On a recent 860 mile trip the trans shifted and worked wonderfully. Afew days after arrival after being caught in stop and go traffic I noticed quite a lot of trans fluid loss and on the ground. I refilled and for the next two weeks it only happened once again.

I drove back 860 miles-no problem

Now I notice when it is hot and I am caught in traffic it blows fluid out the front seal. Normally and with normal driving no leaks.

What is causing the pressure to build so in the trans that it blows out trans fluid through the front seal.

I cleaded the trans yesterday and noticed a very slight weap at the front seal but when driving it, no leaks--I worry about when the next blow out will occur and what is causing it?

thank you
