Ford Taurus, 1999, 102,000 miles.
After being driven in slow, stop & go traffic for about one hour, the car refuses to shift to the second and higher gears and speedometer stops working. Car will run in first gear only.
Then, if the car is stopped and the engine is shutoff for about 15 minutes, the gear-shift and speedometer will start working fine again for next one hour or so.
Do you think this is just a faulty speed sensor in the transmission or is it worst - or is it any thing all together different?
