I was recently told that to replace my fuel pump on my 1995 Ford Taurus, 90,000 miles, fuel injector 3.0, it would cost 480.00. Can a person like myself put a fuel pump on and the fuel filter. As I was driving my car, I went to accelerate around a slower car when my car cut off. I tried to start again, but it would not turn over. It tried. However, as I pump the pedal, I noticed that there was no scent of gas being pump into the engine. Everyone has told me that I need a new fuel pump. Can I access it easily?

Check the fuel filter, fuel pump relay, inertia switch before you get to the pump, if the 3 checks-out,do a fuel pressure check.
