2005 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive 93000 miles

Is there an estimate that can be given for the replacement of the right lower control arm? From my understanding the part isnt VERY expensive and I was given an estimate of $200. That seemed a bit too high. Is this a job that I can do myself with the help of an owner's repair manual? Thanks

lower control arm OEM dealer part cost $110 1 hours labor @shop labor charges (around $70 p/h) Lower Arm Special Tool(s) SPECIAL TOOLS DESCRIPTION Remover, Steering Arm 211-003 (T64P-3590-F) Adapter for 211-S200 211-211 (T96P-3010-A1) Adapter for 211-S200 211--212 (T96P-3010-A2) Removal and Installation CAUTION:Suspension fasteners are critical parts because they affect the performance of vital components and systems and their failure can result in major service expense. A new part with the same part number must be installed if installation becomes necessary. Do not use a new part of lesser quality or substitute design. Torque values must be used as specified during reassembly to make sure of correct retention of these parts. Remove the wheel and tire assembly. For additional information, refer to WHEELS & TIRES . Using a pry bar, push the lower arm down until the ball joint is free of the arm. Remove the nut and bolt. Discard the nut. Remove the nut, bolt and lower arm. Discard the nut. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Use new fasteners.
