Hi,
I have a 2005 Ford Taurus and for the past few days my car has been making these inconsistent jerky jumps that aren't very powerful, but definitely noticeable while I'm driving. It's worst when accelerating uphill. When idle, my car makes these jumps more consistently and I notice that the RPM dips below 1000 when it does these "jumps".
I had a diagnostic test done (Codes: P0430,P0420,P0300) and the results indicate that my car is experiencing random cyclinder misfires and my catalyst converter may be failing to do its job. They say that the results indicate a possibility of the misfires being a reason for this, but I don't know.
What am I looking at as far as cost? Also, is it safe to continue driving?
