Fuel Pump Location and Replacement

The fuel pump is mounted inside the fuel tank. Access requires removing the tank, and removing the pump from the top of the tank. Here is a guide thelp walk you through the steps with instructions in the diagrams below to show you how on your car.

2004 Ford Taurus 6 cyl

i need to know where my fuel pump for my 2004 ford taurus is located at? thank you very much

no idea, but do you know that it is not in the gas tank? i was thinking it was the relay check it out below.

where is the fuse to the fuel pump there is no electric going to to pump

check fuse # 16 (20 amp) in the engine compartment fuse box. if its OK then check the fuel pump relay which is in fuse location #30 of same fuse box.

2000 Ford Taurus 6 cyl

My engine light came on and is showing a trouble code of 1237 which indicates a fuel pump driver module issue. My question is where is this located on this car? Also, could there be another issue causing this light to come on? The car is running just fine.

Possible Causes:
Open or shorted FP PWR circuit
Open FP RTN circuit to FPDM
Open or shorted circuit in the fuel pump
Locked fuel pump rotor
Damaged FPDM
Circuits associated with the fuel pump relay (LS)

Simple Question. Where is the flex fuel driver moduel located on this 2000 ford taurus.

How about the Flex Fuel Sensor Module, center of dash, behind integrated control panel.

Six cylinder two wheel drive automatic.

I replaced fuel pump and fuel pump relay. I Then scanned with the obd II scanner.

The scanner codes indicated the fuel pump driver module has detected a fault in the fuel pump secondary circuit.

The probable causes were faulty fuel pump driver module or open or short in the fuel pump driver circiuit.

The parts are dealer only. Where are these parts located? Can I repair or must I consult a dealer? What is your opinion? 3.0 4 dual over head cam. please help

The fuel pump secondary control circuit deals with the fuel pump driver module (another word for computer) which is use to regulate the fuel pump pressure. By using a fuel sensor located in the fuel rail, the engine computer can regulate the fuel pump pressure by monitoring the fuel pump duty cycle. Using this duty cycle range, the computer can determine when to shut off or increase the fuel pressure for optimum engine performance. Therefore, if the duty cycle is below or higher than the targeted range, it will set a code related to the fuel pump secondary control circuit. When this happens, the fuel pump driver module will set at a default usually set at 100 % duty cycle. For basic test, check connections of the wiring/grounds.

Number one, starting changing the relay is good thing, but the question is "do you have power to the relay?" if there is no power, check the fuse number 30, in the battery junction box, under hood.(see diagram).check also relay ground.
If there is power to the relay,
you have three splices and two connections from the relay to the computer, check them.

if they are all good and not disconnected, the problem might be in the PCM.
They are not parts, they are connections used as ground by the computer. you cannot repair them yourself, let the dealer fix those, and probably reprogram the PCM.
