I bought my Taurus in 2005-was running GREAT!
There has been a lot of snow lately here in Michigan and with my Taurus only having 43,000 miles on it I thought I would be fine. I got in the car yesterday and as I was driving away I heard a noise that sounded like a rock had hit the car. Then there was a terrible smell of rubber in the passenger area...then the GRINDING noise. Has it come off the axel because of snow buildup around tires? Have you ever heard of these symptoms? I am so scared this will be a huge repair cost and it's Christmas...oh Lord.
If anybody can help me, please write me at [email protected] or post here.
THANK YOU!!!!

Your Friend, Susan

Thank you so much Dave for your reply. Yes the car is lower on the left side. I am just sitting here tonight wondering what something like that costs!
I need to donate to this site as soon as I find out what the repair shop says about $$$
Gosh I have been saving up for Christmas for months!
Poof!

Sorry my picture is so big!
I need to fix that!

we are of course still assuming it is the spring ....

OEM Dealer part Coil spring $28.62
1.1 hours labor $50 p/h $55.00
total $83.62

This is a Ford dealer part cost and you can probably get it cheaper from an autoparts store ... and your shop may have higher/lower labor charges ...

Hope this help's ... nice pic by the way ... donations are not mandatory ..if we helped, spread the word ... feedback would be appreciated ..
