2002 Ford Taurus Two Wheel Drive Automatic

The light that indicates that the doors are open stays lit even when the doors are closed and locked. There is no bypass switch to turn the dome light off so I had to remove the entire fixture. What is wrong with it and how easy is it to repair myself, or around how much would it cost to get it repaired?

sounds like you have a faulty or sticking door ajar switch try lubricating the switch's !

front door lock push button rod

rear door lock button push rod
