Hello,

The EGR sensor is located near the EGR valve here are diagrams below to help show you the location. Check out the diagrams (Below). Disconnect the Differential Pressure Feedback Exhaust (DPFE) sensor. Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Back by the the firewall towards the middle by the egr valve thats where they usually are.Theyhave hose going.to them and one hose comes from the exhaust.Usually the hoses fail and need to be replaced.Do you have any codes for the egr feed back sensor? If so what are the exact code numbers you have?

I would start checking for vacuum leaks and the hoses to the egr pressure sensor. The P0401 is egr insufficient flow which could be a issue with the hoses to the feed back sensor. The P0171 and the P0174 is lean bank one and two could be caused by a vacuum leak. The P1135is o2 indicates lean again possible vacuum leak.

I need to replace my DPFE sensor, however I cannot find it. This is a 2000,SEL,3.04V. I was told it was on a mounting plate located (from rear view) on the right engine head, colosest to the firewall, its not there. Then I was told it was on the firewall behind the coil-pack just to the right, its not there. I know what it looks like, but cannot located it. Most all books seem to be written for 2000MY+ models, but all picts are fron the pre 2000 model year. Can you help? Maybe if you describe what had to be removed to get to it?
Thanks you (I did donate, and will again)

Look under the air cleaner plumbing, above the transmission fill tube,,, why do you need to know, are you getting an egr code pointing to this item???? It is a well-known failure part, it may even be covered under your federal emissions law, i'm not sure, I'm thinking 8 yrs or 80k miles for federal, covers most emission related parts...

Also you can follow the metal tube from the egr mounting plate back behind the motor, there will probably be a couple of rubber hoses running off of two nipples, they will attach to the dpfe sensor

Where is the sensor & solenoid in relation to the EGR valve? We replaced the valve yesterday & the engine light came on again this morning. We're hoping to repair it.
