I have a 2000 Ford Taurus Wagon with about 101,000 miles on it. The steering has started making noises when turning hard at very low speeds (ie. pulling into or out of a parking space). The noise is sometimes a high pitched squeak and sometimes something more like a grunt. I can feel it a bit through the steering wheel when it makes the grunting noise, but do not notice it when I hear the squeaking. It also seems to be more apparent on cold days. I have plenty of steering fluid. Is my pump going bad, or is this something else?
