When i drive my car and turn left it sounds like something is loose in the bootom of the car when driving straight the steering wheel shakes a little i took it to a mechanic he said it was th eball joints and the rack and pinion and that he will charge me 700 for everything i looked at prices for rack and pinion and they're around 150 to 200 and the tie rod end for 20 to 40 dollars do you thing that what he is charging is the right price or is it even necesary to replace both to fix the problem?

Hi there,

Remember that he will have a margin on the parts but it dose sound a bit high, go get a second opinion on the work and costs, shop around and you should get a good deal.
