I recently replaced the pads and rotors on my 2000 Ford Taurus and discovered the inner pads on both sides of the car were worn down to the metal while the outer pads were like new. Also the tires were worn down to the cord on the inner side of the tires on both sides. These tires only have 11000 miles on them. I moved the rear tires to the front and discovered almost no wear on the rears at all.
I checked the pins on the calipers and they moved freely, I believe the calipers are "floating" as they should be. I am now replacing the front struts and realigning the front end. But I cannot explain the odd wearing of the front pads. Any ideas?
