1999 Ford Taurus Trunk Spring

I have a 1999 Ford Taurus SE 4 door sedan(mileage=48,000mi) that I need to reinstall the trunk spring rods and need help with how to do it. ie: do you install them with the trunk open, closed, need special tools, etc...?

I think you can do it yourself, removing the actual trunk lid probably is safer with two people however.. be careful they don't get away from you as you're putting them into the notches,,, you'll have to support the trunk lid in the open position,, the notch positions are used to increase or decrease the trunk lid tension when opening, you don't want it flying open..I think the door shoiuld open somewhere between 6-11 inches initially, adjust from there... you don't want it flying up, hitting someone in ther head, not the hot setup.
