I would like to replace the ball joints on my car. According to the service manual the lower ball joints can't be replaced without replacing the entire steering knuckle. The parts stores sell the lower ball joint seperately. Does that mean there really is a way to replace it? If not, can I just replace the upper ball joint (tie rod end) without doing the lower?

Thanks

On a taurus, there is no upper ball joint. It is a strut system. The lower ball joint has to be pressed out.
