1998 Ford Taurus smoking rear brakes

Brakes problem
1998 Ford Taurus

After changing the rear disk brakes( which were very tight because one of the guide pins were stuck) they now smoke after stopping and hum and high speeds. Will the pads wear down enough to stop this problem or what can I do to fix it.

You did screw the pistons back in, and aligned the tabs on the inner pads with the notch in the caliper pistons? If new rotors were installed, did you wash the oil off before installing them? Did you install NEW pins? Lubricate th insde of the rubber slides? Parking bake fully released at caliper?

yes screwed piston back had to, to get pads to even go on correctly and inner pads are lined up .no did not change rotors, did not replace pins and yes park fully released

Try replacing the pins, all four, they cant be cleaned, they are annodized, any rust will make them stick. Jack up rear on smoking wheel, will it spin by hand? If not, open the bleeder screw, will it spin now? If it does, replace flex hoses, if not replace calipers. You didnt mention the mileage, but if these are original calipers, it's probably time to replace them anyway! Sludge will be present behind the pistons, and on piston sides, making it difficult for them to retract when you remove foot from pedal.
