1996 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

i have a 1996 ford taurus with a blowen automatic trans and wanted to know if a trans. from a 99 taurus would fit.
the cars are both auto. and have a 3 litre v6

Take a look at the bottom pan on each one. If both have the same lettering (will be either AXOD METRIC or AX4N) then the transmissions are interchangeable.
