1996 Ford Taurus locking system

Hi,
This is a 1996 Taurus WAGON. The key is stuck in back tailgate lock. Tailgate seems frozen up. Has an auto lock system. All other doors lock and un-lock except tailgate. Key will not come out. HELP!

Try spraying wd40 into the lock, if possible... go into the back and pound on the interior of the tailgate, may loosen up the lock if jammed.. try pulling the key with pliers, maybe turning gently side to side.. is the key stuck straight in??? tumblers may be jammed, try good oiling up with wd....
