1996 Ford Taurus 110000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
Dear 2 CarPros,

I have two questions:

1. I have had a high pitched squeak from my back break on the driver side, I only hear the squeak when I am pressing on the break pedal below 15mph or less in a shopping center parking lot, sometimes when I go 5mph and press the break I can feel a little raddle and a high squeak. I looked at the back break shoes and they look fine; however, it has been a few years since the rear shoes have been replaced. Also, I can see what looks like a little wear on a certain area of the drum on the drivers side.

2. My cold air or hot air does not work when I turn it on. For example, the heat comes out briefly then stops, also, the cold air only becomes cool.

Thank you,

On the rear brakes, I would try a clean and adjust procedure...may be just a dust build up.

On the heat/cool, this may be two separate problems. The cool air may be low freaon. The lack of heat may be a clogged heater core.
