Transmission problem
1996 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 170k miles
96 taurus,when put in park,drive ,reverse on the column.seems loose. sometimes wont start til jiggle it a little in park,or pull the column stick to the left,also loose when changing to drive and reverse. needs to be tighten or alienged ,a cable or something else? something i could do or not. thanks rb update: problem fixed ,was simple fix,under the steering wheel taking off bottom cover,looking up under the dash,the cable has nut located on top of the steering shaft ,came loose was tighten,took about 25 minutes.stopped at a mechanic he told me it was that and he climbed under the dash an fixed it with a tool,charged 30 bucks.could have done myself but he was already there an knew what he was doing.
