I recently dropped my car off to get some leaks fixed. They replaced transmission and oil pan gaskets. When I picked up the car it was not shifting from 1st to second. There would be jerky shifts, but for the first ten minutes of driving it would not shift up. After driving around in low gears for a while the car begins to respond normally and shifts. I went in to get my leaks fixed and came out with a transmission slippage that was not there at all prior to the repairs. The repair shop which is normally a good one said that it could be the transmission. It just seems too much of a coincidence and I spent a lot of cash trying to keep it running. Can you tell me what might have happened?
