I have a 1995 Ford Taurus. The ignition switch stays in the run position. It will start and run, but not shut off. I changed the ignition key lock cylinder but that did not fix the problem. Researched the problem online and looks like it is the plastic linkage between the key lock cylinder and the ignition switch, or the ignition switch itself. I have not been able to find out how to do this repair or diagrams of the steering column that shows these parts. Any instructions or online links are appreciated.
Thanks Mike

I too would like info on this. The plastic linkage between the key cylinder and the ignition switch has broken in my '95 Taurus GL, 69,715 miles, 3.8L and tilt wheel. I have pulled the mechanical switch from the base of the steering column, so I can actually start and drive the car, but the fact that the ignition switch is hanging in the open sorta removes the security afforded by the key.
