1995 Ford Taurus LX 86000 miles 3.8 L Engine:

Lately I have been having two problems which I think are related. Whenever I am driving for more then 5-10 minutes, the will stall. Most of the time idling, but today it happens while I was driving around 35 MPH.

I also have notice that once in awhile when my car is sitting for 4-5 hours it has a hard time starting. I know when it won't start because of a buzzing noise coming from the relay over the fan. I also notice my RPM gauge is spiking around 7500 RPM when it is in the on position.

I also notice if I sit in park for a little while, I notice the RPM gauge fluctuate between 600-1000 RPM. To me this seems like something electrical wrong with my fuel system.

I look forward to your advise, thank you.

Is the check engine light on? When it dies is it losing spark or fuel? Have the PCM scanned for codes

The check engine light is not on normally. It only comes on when the car stalls. Would it still give out a PCM code even if the light is not on?

I am not sure if it is losing spark or fuel. There isn't a leak, and if the relay isn't buzzing it catches instantly. If it is buzzing, it has a hard time catching.
