I have a 95 Ford Taurus SHO

I would turn over a long time before it would start and I didn't think anything of it.

Recently it has had a charging light come on periodically and then go off in the instrument panel.

I tested the Alternator, and battery.

I replaced the Battery cables, and fuel filter.
I also tested the fuel pump.

Now it wont start and my mechanic says that it there is no ignition going through the crankshaft positioning sensor.

Is it worth fixing? and If I have him replace that sensor for $300, what if that doesn't work? If it doesnt', could it be very expensive?

Whether or not it is worth fixing is a decision that only you can make. Do you like the car? Has it been reliable up until now? Is it rusty? What would it cost to replace it with a car that will give you equal or better satisfaction?

BUT....$300 sounds a bit steep for a crank position sensor. Those sensors should not be that expensive. I just put one in a Saturn, and the sensor cost $15 at Auto Zone.
