Hello,

What exactly is wrong with it?

In most cases you will need to replace it instead of repairing.

If it is just a small hole 1/2 - 3/4 inch then you can get a Muffler Repair kit from your local auto parts store.

Hello,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

You can just replace the muffler, even if it is a welded system. If it is a welded system you can just cut the pipe off about 2 - 4 inches from the muffler. And buy a the muffler and a couple clamp, you may also need a reducer or 2.

You can fix the hole as long as you can get to it to do a good repair job. Which means you may need to drop the exhaust. If the muffler tape only worked for a short time then the hole is too big and you will be better off replacing muffler. Like I said the repair kit is for small holes.

Not sure about the 88 fitting. Take a look at it and measure it in several places and if all looks good you may be able to use it.
