2002 Ford Ranger Super 4X4 (V6 4.0L) Milage-9800
I was four wheeling on a road that had wash-outs and I drove off the road into a ditch with water approx. 5' ft deep. The right front of my truck went into the water up to about 3-4" inches from the bottom of the mirror. I shut off the engine, for fear of cracking a cylender, right after entering the water. My truck has a 6'' lift but water still made it into the engine compartment and the cab. The right side of the engine compartment (looking at front of truck) did not get wet but the air box and air filter on the left side were soaked. I was towed out within 10-15 min and I immideaitly removed all remaning water in the cab. I have replaced the air filter and am working on draining the oil and changing the oil filter and spark plugs. Is there anything else i should be looking at before i try and start it? Should I drain the transmission and or any other fluids before driving? Im hoping to avoid taking it to a shop but if its anything more searious that intake and oil i will be forced to.
