I know this is a pretty basic question, but I am real out of practice working on cars - if someone could tell me if there are any easy ways to change this alternator - it's a 4 cylinder ranger - it has a belt tensioner, and I can't figure out how to loosen the belt - and to work around the fan shroud. Would appreciate any assistance.

put a wrench on the belt tensioner and pull it counter clockwise or clockwise till it loosens and take the belt off.

then loosen the bolts on the alternator and take it off and put the next one on put the belt back on and then put it on the tensioner and there you go
