I drive a '94 Ford Ranger, which has a 3.0 V6 Engine and 198,000 miles. Recently, I blew a freeze plug and had to replace it. I hadn't noticed that the temperature was high on the dash guage, so I replaced my thermostat as well as the freeze plug. I put a fail safe thermostat in and since then have not been able to get the heat to work more than slightly above luke-warm. Prior to this my heat worked terrific and it would allow the temperature in the truck to be quite warm. Would simply replacing the thermostat be the reason that heat doesn't work anymore?
