I have a 1967 F100 Ranger Pickup, 352cid with FMX cruise-o-matic transmission, 149,000 miles
The transmission WIL NOT shift into drive until 5 or 10 minutes of warm-up. It shifts into reverse while cold. I have been told that this is due to the seals becoming hard and requiring warm up to soften them before it can build up enough pressure to shift into drive and that this is a common problem with old ford trannies. Is a complete rebuild the only solution or is there some product on the market that will soften the seals?
