pcv valve

The PCV valve is at the rear of the engine. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

I have a 2002 Ford Ranger and I recently purchased part #2L5Z-6c324-CA from the dealership, to replace the PCV and it's hose/connector. The reason I need to replace the whole thing is because the tubing was collapsing, resulting in a failure to pass my recent SMOG inspection. The problem is that the tubing goes into the valve cover, about a foot or so? So, there isn't enough room at the back of the engine (firewall) to simply slide the whole thing out.

For what liter engine-you probably have to remove the valve cover to completely replace it-

It appears this part is for a 3.0L Ranger. I am not sure exactly what you mean that it can't slide out the back or that the tube goes into the valve cover a foot? I attached a picture of the part just so we are on the same page. It only goes into the valve cover about an inch or so and then the tube extends out. You should be able to just unhook the rubber line just above the valve and then the rubber line at the other end of the tube and then remove it from there.
