I started noticing a chirping noise when I slow down and start out from a stop. I had my Ranger checked and thought it may be wheel bearing as it sounded from the rear. They told me it looks like the drive shaft is slightly warped and that was causing the noise. It seems like it was near the selector or at the slip joint. The truck was hit on the left front side in an accident a year ago, could this be a result from that. They said its OK to drive but the noise is a little annoying. Does the shaft have to be replaced or can a part be replaced?

Any vibration? if the driveshaft is bent they will usually vibrate. Have the u-joins checked. Maybe take it to another shop for a second opinion
