IT HAS 2 CONNECTIONS ON IT 1 GOES TO THE CANNISTER AND THE OTHER GOES TO THE VALVE COVER THIS SOMETHING TO DO WITH EMMISSIONS AND THER IS A TAG THAT SAYS THERE SHOULD BE 1 LB OF PRESSURE IN THIS SYSTEM WITH A VALVE CORE LOOKING THING ON IT WHAT IS THIS AND WHAT DOES IT DO. THE TRUCK RUNS FINE WITHOUT IT BUT AM I DOING ANY DAMAGE RUNNING IT LIKE THAT?

The item sounds like a check port for the EVAP system. It is used to force fog into the EVAP system to check for leaks. The 1 PSI is the max the system can hold. What will eventually happen is the check engine light will come on indicating a leak in the system. It's just like leaving the gas cap off. It will need repaired for emission inspection.

Let me know if you have other questions.

It will do it itself. Just have the computer reset or if you can, do it yourself. If you sealed it properly, the light should stay off.
